Q&A Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Leaves are falling off the tree and some of them are brown.
A: When trees are lacking water the leaves will first begin to curl and then fall off.
This is a sign of not enough water.
Q: Leaves are turning yellow and falling off the tree, but the leaves do not feel dry.
A: This is usually a case of to much water.
This is the most damaging of all and sometimes irreversible.
Stop watering immediately and call Paradise Nursery for assistance.
Deep watering helps build strong roots.
Q: What is the best way to water my trees?
A: Do not use a root feeder.
There is to much clay in the soil to use a root feeder.
A hose turned on with a stream the size of a pencil is good.
The best way is to use a 5-gallon bucket with a 1/16" hole drilled 1" from the bottom on the side.
It will let the water out very slow and you can monitor how much water the tree is receiving.
Q: What chemicals do I use to help my tree?
A: There are two supplements that need to be applied to your tree to help it during this transition.
These are Iron and Root Stimulators.
Many root stimulators are on the market to help your trees to begin growing new roots.
These stimulators should be applied in accordance with the instructions.
Iron is probably the most important supplement.
This helps with many problems. By giving your tree Iron it will leaf out heavier and will be darker green.
Iron also decreases the length of time your tree is in shock.
Iron (brand name is called Ironite) can be bought at many retail lawn and garden stores including Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
It can be purchased in 20 or 40 pound bags. Apply 64oz. (a Quick-Trip cup works great) in March and October.
